Sad news! As reported on Wears The Trousers, Annika Norlin has decided to call it a day with her music career, announcing that a new Hello Saferide album (released in the spring) will be the last. She cites the pressure and stress of her success to be too much, and has decided to take up a five year degree.
It’s a huge shame but also understandable. While she may have been massive in Sweden, she seemed to be sadly overlooked here. I caught her set at ATP and she completely blew me away; she and her band were incredible.
Update: The newspaper that broke the story got it wrong. She’s not going to quit, phew & yay etc!
That’s a shame, I only became aware of Hello Saferide a few months ago.
