Timber Timbre at The Scala

Timber Timbre is the work of Taylor Kirk with accompaniment from Mika Posen on the violin and Simon Trottier on lapsteel/autoharp. This was the third time I’ve seen them live and I thoroughly enjoyed it once again. Taylor has such a deep voice full of character and he writes brilliantly dark songs (and they play in almost complete darkness too). The violin and lapsteel pieces are spooky and atmospheric and so excellent.
If you’ve not heard it, you should check out the self titled album which came out last year via Arts & Crafts. It has some really wonderful songs which were a treat to hear live, ‘Lay Down In The Tall Grass’ was especially excellent live.
Listen to some Timber Timbre songs here.
It‘s quiet in here! Why not say something?
