Wow, I’d love to see Julie Doiron sing with Phil in Mount Eerie. I love the album’Lost Wisdom’. Here they are doing ‘Voice In Headphones’ a couple of years ago. Amazing:
If you’ve not heard that album you should check it out. I saw Phil/Mount Eerie solo earlier this year and he was great.
Warpaint have a ‘warm up’ kind of show at CAMP on August 26th. I’d suggest going; they’re brilliant live. It’ll be nice to see them somewhere a bit smaller before their headline show at Scala later this year.

Awww. This is such a beautiful and sweet song from ‘Have One On Me’. It was only in May, but it feels like forever ago, that I saw Joanna Newsom play. Here she is playing ‘On A Good Day’ with Robin Pecknold, of Fleet Foxes:
Wonderful! When I saw her at ATP Festival she only had a shortish set and didn’t play this song. It’s only a few weeks until I see again and I’m crossing my fingers this is on the setlist.
I could praise her loads or you could just see for yourself. I filmed this at the Library show:

The song is an unreleased one. Watch all the way through so you can get to the joyous, beautiful rock out at the end. All the library windows were open, I’m surprised there were no noise complaints. But then, how could anyone complain at such a sweet sound? They couldn’t, surely!
I’ll write more about the show soon. But really, watch that video. They are an incredible band; I love it so much. So special.
